Why I Quit Empower Network

I recently quit Empower Network for several reasons which I'd like to share with others looking into this MLM network. I should be clear that this blog post is me sharing my own candid thoughts and experience, and hasn't been posted to persuade anyone from joining or leaving the Empower Network, nor to gain anyone's nod of approval or disapproval. I'm a professional writer/researcher, Internet marketer and also work managing web development projects for international clients. Consider my Empower Network Review however, do your research and make up your own mind.

I've noticed that the term "Empower Network Scam" has been sucked out of the cyber-sphere by ENers peddling their asses off, to market EN to anyone interested in asking legitimate questions about Empower Network - the results of the HYPE that David Wood and David Sharpe are constantly churning into their eager minds. They aren't offering anything new in terms of Internet Marketing or any type of Network Marketing for that matter, they just happen to be the latest flavor of the week, and they live in alluring Costa Rica.

This is what the Empower Network system is in a 5 step nutshell:
  1. You pay someone you signed up under, $25 a month to join the Network. This could be anyone who is part of the Network who joined under someone else. This gives you a Wordpress.com blog and freedom to listen to their "audio training" which consists of webinars they do. I'd prefer to call this programming or conditioning, but consider that we are exposed to conditioning every time we turn on a TV. We are use to being passively programmed and many people prefer conditioning to thinking. You can't add SEO plugins or other plugins to your $25-a-month blog, so you will do better with this really, really basic blog if you understand keyword ranking and placement and the basics of on-page search engine optimization. But this is never mentioned. Instead your $25 dollar entry level Training Manual largely only describes how to set up your merchant account if you want to join their Affiliate program, and then urges you to commit to 100 days of blogging every day, but provides no training in marketing at all. You can bump up to the $100 a month recurring membership level - one step closer to the "Inner Circle" (hook-you-in terminology they use regularly) - that provides some basic marketing training apparently. They seem to be appealing to newbies that haven't got a clue. Anyone can learn about the standard internet marketing strategies they promulgate from their Inner Circle, by simply reading a book or consulting reputable online resources. THERE ARE NO SECRETS FOLKS. The Empower Network founders rely on the power and psychology of "membership" alone to make money and they do everything to increase that membership. They tell users to use "blog tags" to help search engines understand their articles and that tags are covered in greater depth in the "$15,000 formula", one of their other Training packages. They mention nothing about important tags used for SEO like header tags, meta tags or alt tags, that actually speak to search engines. I guess that's one of the INSIDER SECRETS of the INNER CIRCLE. Clearly the content comprehension level is very, very, very low. I was snoozing out quickly.
  2. Your new membership of $25 a month DOES NOT GIVE YOU 100% COMMISSIONS. To join their Affiliate Program that offers 100% commissions is another $20 a month, something you learn once you sign-up and they have your first recurring $25 membership fee, that is secured under an ironclad no refund policy. So that's a total of $45 a month going out in exchange for promises of great things if you make the crucial commitment to blog every single day. If you know something about advertising and online & offline marketing you'll likely recover the $45 fairly easily.
  3. They encourage you to spend at least one hour a day on marketing and encourage you to invest at least 20% of your EN profits back into the Network in some way, be it for advertising or buying their business training packages. But they tell you nothing about marketing online or offline for $25 a month.  Business Training is what they sell, thus the use of INNER CIRCLE psychology to get you to buy the training. Like Facebook they wouldn't exist without people signing up for $25 to join the network. There is a reason Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in the US and it's not because he created a cool social network, it's because of the marketing leverage created by over 500,000 million Facebook users. The business training "Inner Circle" packages are accessed by paying one time fees ranging from around $500 to in excess of $1000. per package. As an Affiliate you can sell these packages for 100% commissions. This is their top selling point - 100% commissions, and brings in the herds for that one point alone. But I'd have to stress they aren't selling anything new. If you feel good about buying and selling internet marketing information packaged as INNER CIRCLE training, well this is the place for you. Spend some time at the library and you'll probably learn more about marketing online and offline. In fact everything they sell can be learned online for free, but they seem to be appealing to the unmotivated thinker who wants lots of money, while understanding as little as is required about actual marketing. You can't blame people for not having a knack for or interest in the nuts and bolts of internet marketing, while simultaneously wanting to get rich. But you can herd them!
  4. They also tell you to commit to read everyday, and strongly urge you to attend all in-person out-of-pocket events and listen to their audio (hype) training. These audio sessions I found particularly dreary and include tear-jerker testimonials, personal stories and a lot of motivational speaking to keep you hyped up like they are. In fact David & David remind me of preachers. This is heaven for the follower, those that like the latest frenzied marketing craze and those with no experience.
  5. They host live events around the US mostly. This includes months of hype leading up to the event, hype that's emailed to you constantly, while they tell you not to be a "Wussy" by not attending the next $1000 a seat event (you also pay to get there and for your own accomodation) but hey, some people seem to like that type of thing. These guys could have been evangelists.
It's clear to me at least that David & David are counting on a few thing to succeed. So far these things seem to be working for them. Assumed "constants" or "predictors" for this Network to succeed include:
  • Relying on using existing business and marketing ideas, psychology, strategies and hype that others have used to create wealth (nothing new here)
  • Tapping into our existing collectivist mindset, conditioned by modern day media and social media. Just join and then get others to join. Join us and then join us some more, and we'll all be one big nauseating Inner Circle family
  • That there are plenty of newbie, or wannabee internet fortune seekers
  • That newbies don't have a clue about marketing and are thus easily persuaded by cool looking dudes that have a lot of money. It's an easy sell nowadays
  • The unemployment rate is staggeringly high in the US and in Europe and many people are looking for a way to make money online as a result
  • That the art of persuasion works
  • That people are stupid. This is immediately evident in the EN literature that expects an extremely low comprehension level
  • That people are accustomed to following others and not thinking for themselves
  • That we can assume people don't understand search engine marketing and don't have the brains to learn it on their own
  • That any type of marketing is just too difficult or complex to understand by the ordinary person, so we need special Inner Circle training, that makes us feel special, to lay it out for us in layman's terms
  • That the art of psychological marketing works on seeking minds, using old tried and true terms like "Inner Circle" or "Secret"
  • That personal testimonies, and tear-jerker stories are good selling tools. Tapping into people's emotions makes money. It's been used on TV for decades to sell, so we're familiar with this type of psychological manipulation
  • Promoting an elitest mindset of we're IN and your obviously OUT, is only a marketing strategy to grow the Network, nothing new. It's strange that we still so easily buy into this mentality however. Everyone still wants to be "IN". This could be likened to cult mentality - don't think about anything, just give us your money, blog every day, do what we tell you to do and we'll do the rest. Listen to us, listen to us every single day. A somewhat fascist approach me thinks? But hey, that approach seems to be becoming more popular these days, especially with governments. Yes I'm being facetious, no pun intended.
  • That people are lazy and don't have the drive to learn about online marketing. Just buy their system and they're in control, while they stress that you just have to blog every day and eventually you'll get rich like them
  • That in unstable economic times people are in a place of grasping for a money stream
  • Preaching to people to break free from the "Evil System" or fight the "Evil System" and be financially independent. That's a pretty easy sell now-a-days, but it's a very scammy marketing language position to take, in appealing to the masses to join them against EVIL. The monetary system we live in, as it is, is somewhat evil and people know it. Corruption is everywhere and millions are without work around the world. So they appeal to people's frustration to fight the system and join them. Start a revolution. Fight back. It seems to be working for them. You know what they say about opportunity
  • Sadly David Wood also mentions brainwashing and hypnotism as valid marketing ideologies
  • Badgering or berating those that don't join and follow along, or can't afford to attend events, which they gladly do on a regular basis, is no different from school yard bully's who rule the playground through intimidation
  • They can still sell the dying American Dream to many still willing to do anything to achieve it. The image of the perfect life, like the one they have in Costa Rica. That great exogenic journey to spiritual emptiness, that really took off in the 80's. IMAGE is powerful, but not necessarily terribly satisfying.
Some points on my experience in Empower Network:
  • I unfortunately was stuck between a sponsor and then the next person in the network who both just wanted to sell me their stuff or partner with me to sell their stuff. I've been marketing online for about 5 years and know how to say "I'm not interested". I'd email them and they'd email back saying - "call me". One guy got really irritated with me because I hadn't responded to his constant alerts to join him on a videochat platform. Boy, did I have a good chuckle over that. He called me and managed to reach me at work and vented his frustration with me. I guess he imagined I was just sitting around doing nothing better. What a lark! There wasn't much useful, open or honest communication with the people around me, something the Empower Network seems to lack. Networking is not the same as open communication, but openness isn't something the Empower Network has said that it's peddling.
  • The customer service wasn't good. It took 4 days to get a response to a ticket I submitted labelled "urgent" never mind how long the issue took to resolve. Yet at the same time I continued to get daily warning messages about the issue I was trying to resolve, which seemed like the right hand didn't know what the left hand was doing.
  • User control over your personal information is limited to non-existent. You can't close your e-Wallet. The e-Wallet contains your credit card or banking information if you choose to provide it, your address, phone number and email. You can delete and add credit cards and banking information however. You can't cancel your Affiliate membership, which only allows credit card signup. So once you've signed up you have no control over the credit card information you provided to signup and you can't cancel the subscription. You can't delete your blog. You can't cancel your $25 membership unless you use Paypal or another payment platform which provides control over your own payment agreements.
  • I resorted to submitting a ticket labelled "urgent" to cancel my $25 membership, but that didn't mean the rest was cancelled. I had to submit a separate ticket to cancel the Affiliate membership and told them to close everything including the e-Wallet, the blog and the sign-in dashboard which contains personal information. All this took over 10 days to resolve. There is NO DOCUMENTATION on the support documentation page about  how to cancel anything.
  • After the last ticket I submitted asking them to close and cancel everything, they didn't confirm that everything was cancelled they just cancelled everything without emailing to let me know that the request was complete. Not good customer service, but like I said they aren't peddling openness nor setting themselves up as leaders and examples of good communication. They'll lead all right, but only in so far as it benefits the network in making more money. It's a ride and they're taking it as far as it will go
People make money with Empower Network. Is it MLM or a Pyramid Scheme? - yes it is 100%, safely based in Costa Rica (MLM is banned in some countries). If you're a joiner and like to feel like you're huddling with what appear to be industry insiders, well I guess at the moment the Empower Network can accommodate your needs. If you're free thinking, understand you're way around in the online marketing world, you can still work this system to make money, if you can tolerate the copious amount of verbal diarrhea both Dave & Dave seem to possess in spades. My bullshit meter for the Founders and the people you encounter in this Network, couldn't take it anymore, given what I know about online marketing.

Thanks for reading my Empower Network Review. So, can you call me a revealer of the Empower Network Scam? You decide. Please share your experience here as well. Thanks for your comments.

Very nice write up. Funny I've got somewhat the same thoughts.

You're exactly right Michael, I lasted a whole week basically training myself to write blogs. One day I took a look at my blogs on their site and notice that my entire home page header and wigets were missing, and all the headers, key words in my blog pages were pointing to a bunch of ads which had nothing to do with EN...well, that was the ultimate insult to me, so I cancelled my membership...do they really think that I was going to continue to write blogs for someone else's beneit...I don't think so!...

Thank god! Someone telling it like it is. I watched the inital video a few times and like you beleived that the $25 a month would enough start you off. it is true once you sign up you then find out about the additonal costs of the E-wallet. Really they shoudl include that all in the first video so it's clear.

On the first fast start training, it tells you the 8 core principles, but still this training doesnt go into how o drive money to your blogg. Instead you then get some emails called bootcamp. To be fair these are not bad, but then in the study guide it tells you that there seo compressor on the site is floored so to use your instinct.

In the basic principles they just tell you to blogg daily, market daily, listen to audio daily ect. But really to benifit form this you need to upgrade and there is a big push for this initially. Also what I found hard to understand was that in the bootcamp videos it shows that the 15k formula was $250, now it is like a $1000.

The truth is yo dont get a great deal of help form your sponsor unless you upgrade. I fyou ask any question they will say you need the training. So really witht he basic blogging platform you are pretty much alone with just some videos.

In addtion to this, there is site is slow, and I mean mega slow. It takes ages to load and update your posts. I can tell you know for nothing that the 15k forumla shows in more dept how to drive traffic to your site. I brought a course on this auto trafic conspiracy for $6.00 that shows you how to set up cpv/ppv and get traffic, and provided sofware to do this.

The only thing I would say is that I did cancel my subscription with ease.

I am so glad someone has put an honest review on here at last.

thank you!

Actually I didn't intend to visit it before, yet after I read your article, I just can say that it's so inspiring. Thanks for making such nice article!empower network

I agree with a lot that was said. At the same time, what they do/teach, works...it creates sales. Is what they teach 'new'? To some it is. But if you know marketing/advertising, the same principles have been used since selling began. Only the format changes. Hands down, you can analyze ANY business and find things you don't like about it. What you see is what you get.

I'm so glad I found this page. Thanks for keeping it real! One of my closest friends keeps telling me I need to join and I'll admit, a poor job situation makes it tempting. Yet, this EN stuff just reeks to me. The most concerning parts are that my friend is flat broke and wants to waste 1k to get more training. Sad. Secondly, when David mentioned "Hypnosis" as a major interest of his that sent off all types of red flags for me. No way Jose!

I noticed that EN focuses heavily on people that "resist the machine" and rebel against honest hard work.
Thanks again for this post. Now I feel compelled to add some keywords to make sure people that are looking to get into the Empower Network avoid it at all costs.

Empower Network Scam
Emppower Network cult
Empower Network took my money
Don't join Empower Network
Think twice before joining the Empower Network.

If it was MLM it would be set up totally different and could not work the way it is. Saying it is an MLM is clearly misleading by prupose, if you have 5 yrs of internet marketing experience you should know the difference. That you dealt with 2 stupid people in EN does not make it an MLM. Just shows you do NOT know what you are talking about.

Oh and btw. I have 15 year of experience in sales psychology, hypnosis, NLP anyway, and I can see with eyes WIDE OPEN when I read other sales pages and programs, and TV that you mention how we are made to believe all kins of things. Just trust me on that for a moment, that I can read through it after years of professional experience, and I am certainly not easy to be "hypnotized" or sold on something. I am probably the hardest person to sell something, because I don't just smell, I see right through wrong promises.

Compared with what you are exposed to every day, including online offers (I really wished you could SEE through that with my eyes) compared with that Empower Network is very moderate, believe it or not.

You guys just shit your pants because NOW soMEBODY OPENLY SAYS AS IT IS (Dave Wood) and ADMITS that speech patterns ARE always being used in sales and even REVEALS it! What is REAL SAD about all of this is, that people LOVE TO BE LIED TO! YOU LOVE TO BE SOLD when you don't KNOW you have been sold! That is the thing. When you don't notice the pattern, you BELIEVE you have NOT been sold. Dream on folks.... This is how the WHOLE WIDE MERCHANDISING PROMOTIONAL INDUSTRY WORKS! You are so brainwashed you don't even DREAM how. (Google Darren Brown, and see what you would never believe can be done with the human mind, and how companies massively use it on us DAILY).

You have so no idea what is going in front of you at your computer screen - you just DON'T SEE IT! And now a guy who cold not care less reveling the patterns, Dave Wood, TELLS you this is how it is, this is the reality, this is how it works, and if you are in any kind of business, you need sales training, every sales person gets heavily trained on that for a reason!

Anonymous said...

And therefore I LOVE Dave's complete openness, his open and ethical approach TELLING PEOPLE THE TRUTH, TELLING average people THAT this hypnotic patterns exist!! Now the BLIND ONES are shoked about all the woo-woo - wher Dave does nothing else but tell you the name of the game!! Now he becomes the black sheep?? You guys are so blind, it is like friends of mine who keep telling me what was said on TV and how this is the truth, and fanatically support the next best scam politician, just because he had more money to pay for better hypnotic speeches!!!

PEOPLE WAKE UP!!!!!!!!! WAKE UP PLEASE - AND BETTER LEARN TO SEE THROUGH IT!
Since Dave Wood did not hypnotise me but speak out what I AM SEEING ALL MY LIFE - I appreciate his courage, I am rather afraid big companies, even politicians MAY want to quiet him down at some point. Because he is beginning to give back power to the people! KNOWLEDGE is power. Screw wp-training, you can live without. But in this what you'd better learn FAST is see throuh the crap you were made to believe in this society. We are all part of business, if you are an entrepereneur and internet marketer THE MORE you must know what is going on, or your business will die killed by smart competition. But also as an individual and human.. you should wake up and stop blamine the wrong people, because politicianc, TV, and commercial have become your FALSE FRIENDS! THEY are the foe, guys... All Dave Wood is doing is fingerpointing to the fact how this patterns ARE THERE and you'd better learn to see through them.

If I were you, I'd rethink this whole business world, and thinking. Stop making exucses for your own faliures. Stop complaining that you don't get the world for $25. Or go back into your illusional reality and go buy the next best $47 product launch, with upsellse and downsells that are never announced in advanced (yeah, David is stupid to tell you all the products upfront, you guys are not used to that, ha?) - buy your daily new internet marketing gimmick, that is gone in a month, chase the next traffic training, and keep feeding this interenet marketing repetitve pattern that chases money out of your pocket.
If you are honest - how much money have you spent in 3-5 years online - AND WHAT FOR? Which courses did you REALLY get something out of? Was it the cheap ones? Was it a high priced coacing that you really learned something great from? How much have you spent alltogether, and where are you at today with your knowledge summary?

Anonymous said...

I know I have spent a ton, certanily around $10.000 for sure, starting with $47 products, software, up to $2000 and even $4000 coaching programs. And what I have to say mainly only the big ticket products DID deliver, because they had to. And while I felt I know A LOT, plus practical experience, I completely into SEO, mastered it - and now... after all of this, I can say I LOVE THE EMPOWER PRODUCTS. I truly love them. It is what was missing. It gives a bigger picture, not some pissy little video how to tutorials that you can find on YouTube. And I would pay MANY TIMES OVER for it. I have products up to $1000 with Empower so far. I do not care to rush. And no, I am not blinded to hysterically run all in. But I already now I am going to buy the $3.500 prodcut as well. Because it IS a business building science they reveal. I don't know what YOU guys are looking for. But for me this program is the icing on a solid cake.

Make your own conclusions. Well, I guess I was hypnotised........ uuuuuh, now we will change the world uuuuuuuuuuuuh, and the mediocre folks will keep watching how they never succeed.
Well. Bad luck. I am not Jesus. I cannot make the blind see.
Everyone shapes his own destiny.
Some make it as dark as this blog.
Some are embracing the beauty of life.
You choose yourself.
Peace.

I ended up paying for ALL the products because my sponsor told me that he would send 1000's of leads my way if I joined everything. After paying for everything there's been no response from him and I have lost thousands of dollars.

I left Empower recently as well. I think it's something that will get people money quickly if they have a big list and then eventually die out. I feel that's the same with all the other new blogging platforms that are popping up that are far less powerful than a personally hosted WordPress site. I cannot endorse a product that doesn't live up to its full potential. I felt like I was lying to others.

Anonymous said...

I am in up to 15K and seriously thinking of just counting my losses and throwing it all in. I have one sign up at $25 who has not gone any further. I have been in for 2 months and spent thousands. I wish I NEVER joined! I have put in so much time and effort and get nothng out of it. I truely believe only those who have experience with marketing make the big money. I was a total newie.

I'm actually going to cancel this morning. I found another program that you may have heard of called Pure Leverage. It's $25 a month, but you get an actual system with everything to run a business. They also provide training and a blog. Thank God I found this when I did. I've only been a member of EN for two weeks. Thanks for the insight.

I was happy to see that someone up the page here was willing to share their results with you all. After reading this blogs review I realize a number of things. #1 The author and most of you are jealous of the success other people are having.# 2 You are all quitters and lack the proper drive it takes to ever succeed at anything.#3 From the banners I saw to the right of this blog, the author is trying to make a living selling books on how to market. DO NOT THANK HIM FOR SAVING YOU SOME MARKETING FAILURE. GO MAKE IT HAPPEN. I DOUBT HE WILL EVEN POST THIS COMMENT. LOOSERS....I AM MAKING GOOD MONEY WITH EN. LET ME KNOW IF YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND DUDE. YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY SCHEMING EVEN MORE THAN YOU ACCUSE DAVE & DAVE OF DOING. LOL

I just canceled yeahhhh... What a relive it's the waist of my time and money... So I guess we found a kiss azz huh Chris Mahar, anyways Dude bottom line this company sucks it's ripping people off money instead of helping them make money... Maybe ur just a FAKE and a LOSER as well so next time before judging ppl make sure ur FUCKING life is PERFECT dumb azz, now go and continue KISSING azz to ur EN company that is so great so u say... Have a nice day LMFAO!!!!

I am cancelling my membership as well - I have been in for less than a month and I am already so tired of listening to the same stories - "I lived in my Van" or " I was a drug addict" - ok - so tell us something we dont' know. I don't appreciate the bullying tactics - it's like name-calling and excluding people will motivate them? EN is like being on the playground at school - where only the kids who have spent all their money are cool - and anyone else isn't worth talking to. My sponsors have recently also started showing their bullying ways as well - I won't have anymore to do with it. I know there are other companies out there that can offer what empower does and you don't have to listen to a couple guys who are really bad "preacher" wannabe's. I can't promote this company to others and feel good about it. Glad lots are making money - but you have to agree with their founders. And Dave and Dave - get the marbles out of your mouth when you're talking! Seriously - I can't stand another moment of it!

Anybody else who says otherwise, post copies of your financials from membership.. There, I just "empowered" YOU for nothing and possibly got you free recruits.

Post your numbers..don't be a "WUSSY" Show me YOUR Money..

Paypal Banned them.. Facebook Banned them.. Do your real research. A fool and his money are soon parted..

I agree with Chris, quit after one month? Come on really? As goes for all you other quitters out there, read one review then get scared and have to run?? Come on, use your own mind. If you want to be successful set a goal and don't listen to negative stories, you with want to succeed or you don't. Did you know Empower has a top leader from Monevie that actually quite a $700,000 per year residual income to market online with Empower? Do you think all these successful, wealthy people are idiots? I think not. I've followed David Wood for over 3 years since he started online and watch him grow from nothing to what he is today. What I like about him and most others too is his honestly, he doesn't put on any ears and graces, he is totally himself, he doesn't need to become somebody he is not like others do in this Industry "like faking it til they make it" All you quitters out there, you made a big mistake, there is nothing else online that will make you as much money nor provide the same culture and community. Most of the top leaders in Empower have come from successful backgrounds, corporate careers etc, my husband and I have come from having conventional businesses generating income of $500,000 per year, do you really think we would lower ourself to some scammy internet thing? Wake up people, your loss unfortunately.

Pretty good post. They are definitely good at persuasion. My problem is not with the marketing model but the lack of training at the basic level. Some people need more information to get started. Too much hype and not enough meat. I have to give them credit, they created quite a cult following. Good for them!

First off I doubt thats even true and secondly wtf you need your sponsor to help you for the product IS TRAINING SO WTH DO YOU NEED FROM HIM/HER. I mean jesus it takes one sale to break even at the basic level...Getta damn job if you cant afford 25 dollars before you make your first sale...oh i forgot youza bitch ass moafucka..man fuck this blog im out holla at me in denver. Good informative post! I spoke with a lady I emailed in interest and she was extremely bold and aggressive in her approach. She ended by saying "the choice is yours, don't be a wussy." Our very last conversation by my choice and I think she is an idiot and definitely will never empower anyone. So much for the successful recruiting pitches, you're right it is cult-like.

My concern was unprofessionalism. It doesn't reflect my own way of doing business. It seems cheep. Suit and tie is not necessarily needed for being professional yet a conduct of business common to society is lacking here. A rebellious spirit seems to prevail by the founders. As a result I am opting out for Level One Network. This I can be a part of without a red flag within my view. I want a world-class business and willing to work @ it without a reservation looming alongside. If you have to override your conscience, your failing in all. That's it. :)

GREAT to hear that the blog is helping others evaluate this network. I've shared my experience and thoughts and asked others to decide whether EN is for them because that is more respectful than trying to dissuade others from figuring it out for themselves.

We all look to others to see what people are saying about products, services and world events. I just tried to be as honest as I could be so others could read about my experience in EN.

I've been criticized for posting books in the sidebar. I guess someone thinks I'm trying to scam people buy providing reputable reading on seo and internet marketing. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

And yes it is MLM. MLM Definition from Investorwords.com

"Multi-Level Marketing. A sales system under which the salesperson receives a commission on his or her own sales and a smaller commission on the sales from each person he or she convinces to become a salesperson."

I appreciate the experience others are sharing about how things went for them in EN. I agree with the comment on unprofessionalism and with the idea that it was hard to sell someone something you didn't feel good about. I felt the same way. Thanks also to those that support EN, I also appreciate you taking the time to comment. Ultimately everyone must decide for themselves.

Keep the comments coming :)

What's also interesting is that it seems others are having the same experience I had. Coincidence? You decide.

I totally agree with you on this post and I`m about to close my account. Thank you for pointing out the difficulties about closing the account!

I am so glad I have not fall for selling tactics and chose to do a google reach first. Seeing all the negative post about EN and how much it will cost you to make some money, I am glad I did not join.

BTW the only people who really make a good living of this programs are the owners, while they live the luxuries life the underdogs do the dirty work of selling and recruiting trying to make couple bucks, while the big guys live damn well with the "idiots" memberships etc. No thank you. Not interested making Dave&Dave any richer then they already are. They should shut down this schemes, they all run the same just under different name.

Thanks to this article, I cancelled my EN at just 25. Would have been harder to do if I was neck deep in this shit.

This Sajib Ahmed must be a very busy and rich man copy pasting his advertisement on every comment section he sees.

One of the clients I write for have been with EN since last year and haven't earned any yet have spent a lot with the products and seminars. I told him right from the start that EN is nothing but a scam and this post very well pointed out the reasons why. EN have been banned by countless sites including PayPal, Facebook, Stumbleupon, and numerous social bookmark sites due to spamming. I'm sure it won't be long until search engines like Google ban them too.

Yeah, i agree to this article indeed. I joined The Prospirety Team about a month ago, and my sponsor told me trough he`s mails that you would get a lot of training both from Empower and The Prospirety Team. This is of course just BS, because when i was in for $25, they just told me to upgrade to Inner Circle to reveal more and better training. You get no training other than how to setup your blog with the basic level at all! So when i asked my referer for some help, he was quick to add that upgrade to the 15K and i will give the required help that you need! This has nothing to do with team building and to help each other, this system is like everything else out there. They think about them self first, and how they can squeeze every little penny out of you. I do know some triks on how to get traffic, and i will indeed help those who are under me if they require some tips. The videos in Empower is all about your mindset etc, a waste of peoples time, they should have offered some real over the shoulder training for everybody to use. To be honest you should save your money for something else...

Thanks for sharing your experience regarding the prosperity team and Inner Circle and how they try to get you to "Buy-In".

Michael, You hit all the Nails right on the Head. It has become more of a cult, and they (the Daves) are exactly like evangelists.

I quit after 7 months. It was not all useless (I like to look on the bright side of things) as I definitely learned some things to help propel me forward in this daunting online marketing world.

And then I found a similar payplan WITHOUT the "ALL IN" ($5,000+) hype of EN. http://Success497.com was created to help the 97% who normally fall prey to this type of more more more mentality, that consumed even those who professed to be against it (The Daves).

Thanks for your candor. All The best to you, and your readers.

Great Review - The only way to make money with Empower is to become greedy and have a heart of stone. You literally have to take the last money some individuals have and persuade them to invest it. Not my kind of marketing!

Keep up the good work and have a awesome day.

Hello,

I was just looking for some truth as I was thinking about them, how the system works and what you get for that money...

Thanks again to those leaving comments. I read them all and appreciate the feedback. I'm probably not much different from you, seeking ways to make money online. After doing this since 2006 I just had to be really candid about EN, so it's good to hear that the blog is helping others who legitimately want to do something real.

Internet Marketing isn't a walk in the park. I can recommend Patrick Chan, Ewen Chia and Allan Gardyne at AssociatePrograms.com as good starting points, if you're just beginning to learn about affiliate marketing & making money online. Nothing is perfect but these guys provide decent information and have been making money online for quite awhile.

Wishing you all Good Success!!

Chris Maher you are a sad sad man... no wonder your wife left you mate threatening people with your smith and wesson you are a prime example of the bullying mentaltity the author of the empower network review blog talks about.

Join empower and have Vick Strizeheus hyjack your affiliate links to send to himself or his cult followers who provide videos to make him him look good....

Most sales all sorts of records yet not even once in top ten for leads generating numerous people sent in complaints about him hyjacking their affiliate ids yet empower did nothing...

All those saying how great empower is guess you are not in the 99% of people earning crap all according to empower own earning stats... is that why you have so much time to go around posting on peoples blogs how great empower is lol

I chose to quit EN back in the beginning of October 2013. I went through the proper channels to cancel all accounts via their website policy and procedures. I was told by support (Carlo R) that my account/s were cancelled and I would not have my debit or cc charged again. They charged me for October anyway even though I followed the procedures of cancelling well before the 48 hour time period that is stated on their website...several days before as a matter of fact. I contacted support and received no response.

As of today November 18, 2013 they are still charging me and support has been unresponsive in every form of communication. I even contacted my sponsor and he said I have to cancel through my account online which I have done. I checked to see if my account is active...guess what NO it is not. Therefore, I contacted my cc company and deactivated my card. I will keep posting a ticket everyday if that is what it takes. I want a refund for the $$'s that they charged me AFTER I have already cancelled my account.

I have been online for several years now and been successful with Networking. I will continue on with my current business and enjoy what I am doing without EN.

I wish all of you success in whatever path you choose.

Who says that EN is MLM?
For EN to be MLM there should be a product. What is the product? There isn't one.
The product is new affiliates. The abc of spotting a pyramid scheme as opposed to multi level marketing is the absence of a product.
Teaching how to recruit in order to get more money off new recruits and teach them to make more recruits, is not a product. If so, chain letters ought to be legal since they teach you how to write letters asking for money.

To say it is genuine because you can make money is also rather naive. You can make money cloning credit cards, that does not make it legit.

Last but not least, guys, check the photos of the two daves. do you really want that photo linked to your website? It will make your other customer and potential customers run miles away from you screaming scaaaaaaaaaaam.

The main problem is not with Empower Network, it is with the people who sign up who have no clue that any type of marketing takes dedication, hard work & lots of effort. There are no get rich quick schemes.. You must put in the work. Empower Network is just one path to this, not the only path.

Anonymous said...

Wow - you're taking a hell of a lot for granted in your comment. Gee, none of us have thought of hard work and dedication - is that a new concept?

I can't understand this post because this is by far the best thing anyone can do online for great cash! If you want something for nothing then keep playing the lotto! I've went from a construction worker struggling to well over 30k per month! If I can do it then anyone can! I do expect that some people like some here will bash EN because they try to do this and fail and they don't put the blame on their self which is where the true failure is! or because that is how some people are.....just wanting to bring others down!!! So to the ones out there that keep nit picking this apart for a negative reasons....Get a Life! If YOU want to make this work for you then it WILL. Buy the way, the people that I've signed up are all seeing results! That is, the ones that have a success driven mind that really want it!

toomuch said...

Thanks for your comment Greg. Clearly things seem a certain way to you and you've made that clear. You sound like you're under attack however. I wish you all the best.

Marcus Day said...

I completely agree! I'm going to call them tomorrow and cancel! They better not give me any smack talking either. I been sent a support ticket before my two week term, so I better get my refund! How dare they!? They teach nothing of marketing or anything of the sort. You get no tutorials of SEO keywords. It's completely idiotic. I found something that is making me $100,000 a month. And I only paid a ONE TIME $47 FEE! So tell me what's better. Paying $25 a month for the rest of your life or paying a one time fee of $47? You tell me. You decide.

toomuch said...

Good to read your comment MD Zone. Some folks feel my blog is about bashing but it's nice to know some folks just get that I'm just trying to cut the crap and talk about what's really happening. Thanks for confirming that in fact they teach nothing about online marketing. Sounds like you found something solid, so here's wishing you success!

l really had a bad experience because l joined this hype as a package which included Pure Leverage, EN and GVO. What a blunder. Just setting up the system costed me more than 200 usd not mentioning up-sells and recurring expenditure. l got so pissed off that l also wrote a review about my experiences http://avertscams.com/empowernetworkscamreview
